Belayneh Kinde Group to inaugurate giant edible oil plant
Addis Ababa, February 6, 2021 (FBC) –An edible oil plant built by Belayneh Kinde Group at a cost of 4.5 billion birr will be inaugurated tomorrow.
Erected on 30 hectares of land in Bure town, Amhara regional state, the plant has a production capacity of 1.5 million liters per day, said Belayneh Kinde, board chairman of Belayneh Kinde Group.
The plant, which will start supplying its product to markets as of next Monday, can meet 60% of local demand and reduce foreign currency spending for oil imports by 30%, he said.
Federal and regional state officials are expected to attend the inauguration of the plant that will create employment opportunities for 3,000 people.
The industrial complex has also plants to process 200 tons of sesame and produce 96 tons of detergent per day. It has also margarine, Jerry can and plastic factories.
