Belarus Expects BRICS to Consider Membership Application Soon – Foreign Minister

UNITED NATIONS, September 28 (Sputnik) – Belarus expects the BRICS organization to consider its application for membership in the near future, Belarusian Foreign Affairs Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov told Sputnik.

“It is no secret that Belarus submitted its application, and we expect its consideration in the very near future,” Ryzhenkov said in an interview.

BRICS is one of the most dynamically developing organizations of the global majority and is attractive to many countries, Ryzhenkov said. The group is rapidly “gaining weight” politically and economically, he added.
