Banking service resumes in Mekelle City
Addis Ababa, December 28, 2020 (FBC) – Banking service in Mekelle City has resumed operations which were suspended since the onset of the law enforcement operation in Tigray, mayor of the regional capital stated.
The Mayor of Mekelle City, Ataklti Haileselassie told EPA that banks have today restarted services following successful coordinated efforts carried out by the city administration and the people of the region.
Ataklti undelined that successive consultative meetings that involved participation of the people have been held in line with addressing grievances of residents related to closure of social services since the commencement of the law operation.
Residents of the city have today started receiving all services from the banks which reopened their doors to their customers after a month of enclosure, the mayor added.
