Bank of Italy to initiate technical assistance program for NBE

Addis Ababa, April 14, 2023 (FBC) – The Governor of the National Bank of Ethiopia Mamo Mihretu, met with Piero Cipollone, Deputy Governor of Bank of Italy on the margins of the World Bank and IMF Spring Meetings in Washington D.C

According to the National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) the two sides agreed to initiate a technical assistance program for NBE in the areas of payment and settlement systems and macro research and statistics, leveraging Bank of Italy’s strong expertise in the field.

NBE’s Governor Mamo Mihretu held a meeting with Kenyan, Zambia, Mozambique and Ugandan Central Bank Governors, it is stated.
