Authority inaugurates a 45mln Birr food Quality Control Laboratory

Addis Ababa, May 18, 2020 (FBC) – Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority has inaugurated 45 Million Birr worth of Food Quality Control Laboratory on Tuesday in the presence of the Health Minister Dr. Lia Tadesse and other dignitaries.

On the occasion, Minister of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Lia Tadesse said the facility is instrumental to strengthening the regulatory efforts and safeguarding the health of the community.

She said the laboratory is equipped with high technology and would help render up to date services.

It is stated at the inaugural ceremony that the laboratory will be used to ensure quality and safety of locally manufactured and processed foods as well as those imported.
