AU Commissioner, Special Envoy discuss progress of AU-MVCM in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, April 25, 2023 (FBC) – Ambassador Bankole Adeoye, African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security held discussions with U.S. Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Ambassador Mike Hammer.

The discussions focused on Horn of Africa issues, including the progress of AU Monitoring, Verification and Compliance Mission (AU-MVCM) in Tigray region of Ethiopia.

The two sides also discussed the situation in Sudan and the need for the international community to speak with one voice for peace in Sudan and partners’ continued support to the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) towards complete drawdown by December 2024
