AU, China express willingness to advance mutual cooperation, people-to-people bond
Addis Ababa, September 9, 2023 (FBC) – The African Union Commission and China have expressed willingness to advance their mutual cooperation, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people bond.
African Union Commission and Mission of China to the African Union co-hosted the Themed Theatrical Performance “Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of OAU/AU and the African Union Day, Enhancing China-Africa Cultural Exchanges” last night in Addis Ababa.

Addressing the event, Head of Mission of China to the African Union, Ambassador Hu Changchun, pointed out that China and Africa are cradles of human civilization and boast long history and splendid arts and heritages. Guided by Global Civilization Initiative, China will work with Africa to enhance culture exchange and tighten the people-to-people bonds.
Albert M. Muchanga, the Commissioner for Trade and Industry at the African Union Commission, highlighted the importance of China-Africa culture exchanges. He thanked China for its strong support for the celebrations of the 60th Anniversary of OAU/AU.
He pointed out China-Africa cultural exchanges have a long history, and traditional friendship will be everlastingly vigorous. The AU is willing to work with China to further strengthen mutual cooperation, cultural exchanges, and enhance the people-to-people bond.
