ARC vows to support the efforts to enhance Ethiopia’s agricultural resilience

Addis Ababa, February 20, 2024 (FBC) – Agriculture Minister, Girma Amente (PhD), conferred with Ibrahim Cheikh Diong, UN Assistant Secretary General and Director General of the African Risk Capacity (ARC) Group.

On the occasion, Girma stated that the Ministry of Agriculture and its affiliate institutions are ready to collaborate with ARC Group to enhance farmers’ capacity, increase productivity and strengthen resilience in the agrofood system.

Ibrahim Cheikh Diong, for his part, affirmed African Risk Capacity Group’s commitment to join hands with the ministry and rest of the government to contribute in enhancing the agricultural resilience in Ethiopia.

“Ethiopia has a tremendous experience in building agricultural resilience, as the result, the ARC Group looks forward to expand Ethiopia’s best experiences to the rest of Africa based on the principle of African solution to African problems,” he added.
