Youths provide services valued at 19.3 billion birr during Summer Volunteer Program

Addis Ababa, October 10, 2017 (FBC) – The Ministry of Women and Social Affairs has reported a substantial savings of 19.3 billion Birr as a result of activities undertaken during the national Summer Youth Volunteer Program.

The program’s closing ceremony took place in Jimma city, where State Minister for Youth Affairs, Muna Ahmed, highlighted that over 52.7 million individuals have benefitted from a range of voluntary services.

The Ministry explained that this impressive savings figure was achieved through development initiatives and social services that were outside the scope of government support or community funding.
