Addis Ababa, September 25, 2020 (FBC) –Minister of Trade and Industry, Melaku Alebel, yesterday held discussion with a delegation from the World Bank.
The discussion mainly focused on Ethiopia’s on-going development efforts, said the Ministry of Trade and Industry on its official Facebook page.
Ousmane Dione, World Bank Country Director for Ethiopia, Eritrea, South Sudan and Sudan, said Ethiopia should learn from Asian countries and Vietnam in particular, to diversify exports, attract FDI and strengthen trade ties with other countries.
Melaku for his part appreciated World Bank’s support to Ethiopia and also briefed members of the delegation about the country’s Homegrown Economic Reform agenda.
He further requested technical support from World Bank in the formulation of trade and industry polices to address problems in foreign exchange earnings.
