Addis Ababa, October 24, 2022 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) announced the maintenance of the Woldia-Alamata 230 KV high voltage transmission line has started.
According to EEP, this high voltage transmission line was damaged by the terrorist TPLF.
EEP confirmed that the repair of this line will restore electricity to the war-scarred towns of Lalibela, Sekota, and other areas of Wag-Hemra zone.
According to EEP’s inspection between Woldia Doro Gibr and Alamata distribution stations, conductor was damaged and broken in 50 areas.
Alamata distribution station receives power from the lines installed from Bahir Dar, Ashgoda and Kombolcha. Hence, the maintenance of the 230 kV line from Kombolcha-Alamata has started until maintenance of the power transmission line from Bahardar-Alamata begins, said EEP.
Electric power to Lalibela, Sekota and Maichew lines will be restored from the 66 KV Alamata distribution station upon the completion of the maintenace, reports ENA.
Ethiopian Electric Power announced a few days ago that research-based work is being endettaken to start electricity services in areas that have been liberated from the terrorist TPLF.
Certain areas of Tigray and Amhara regions have not yet been able to get electricity due to the terrorist TPLF’s attack on the electricity infrastructure.
