Wingu Africa Data Center built with $50m inaugurated in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, June 13, 2023 (FBC) – Wingu Africa private data center built in Ethiopia at a cost of 50 million USD was inaugurated today in Addis Ababa.

Present at the inaugural ceremony, among others, were Minister of Innovation and Technology Belete Molla, other senior federal government and Wingu Africa officials.

During the event, Anthony Voscarides, Group CEO, Wingu Africa, stated that Wingu Africa data center provides affordable and secure data services to any public or private institution.

Wingu Africa is a high-tech database that provides services and operates in all kinds of technologies in Somaliland, Djibouti and Tanzania, he added.

The CEO pointed out that it is a reliable and safe, fast internet service and cost-effective technology infrastructure in Ethiopia.

Wingu Africa Chief Strategy Officer Nicholas Lodge said that the inaugurated center in Addis Ababa is a fast and reliable data center that operates through Ethio telecom and Safaricom Internet Center together.

He said it serves as a safe alternative information center for foreign investors who are interested in investing in Ethiopia.

It is stated that Wingu Africa, a Pan-African Data Center operator, is a data centre that provides low cost, reliable connectivity for businesses in East Africa. Its pioneering operations in Djibouti, the most connected location on the African continent, provide critical access for local enterprises and international clients.
