Addis Ababa, July 2, 2022 (FBC) – The UN World Food Program (WFP) latest statement that acknowledged the federal government’s unilateral truce for the regular humanitarian supplies to Tigray have exposed the World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom’s appeal to aid is a big lie.
In its official twitter post, the WFP noted that humanitarian supplies have been flowing into Tigray since April 1, 2022, when the truce came to effect. Accordingly, the program has delivered enough food to feed 5.9 million per month.
The WHO’s chief; however, gave a blind eye and a deaf ear to this truth and disregarded the WFP’s efforts to ensure regular humanitarian assistance to communities in need in Tigray since the unilateral truce. “Over six million people in Tigray have been sealed off … Humanitarian aid must be allowed immediately,” Tedros tweeted.
It is evident that the terrorist TPLF is hijacking the humanitarian aid that the federal government destined to the needy people in Tigray to feed its combatants. The faction is stealing the food and non-food supply and deliberately starving the people of Tigray, whom it falsely claims to, defend and represent, according to EPA.
Ethiopian Embassy in the UK rebuffed allegations made by Tedros and other T-TPLF cliques in diaspora and indicated over 1,513 trucks that travelled to Tigray to deliver aid did not return. The trucks are being commandeered by the terrorist element for military mobilization and for the transportation of its forces. “The truth should be told that the group is diverting food aid to feed its combatants that was intended for the needy people of Tigray.”
By the same token, Prime Minister’s Office Press Secretary Billene Seyoum said the government has ensured a continued supply of food and non-food items, fuel, medicine and cash to the affected communities in Tigray since the announcement of the truce.
