Addis Ababa, March 17, 2021 (FBC) – The World Food Program (WFP) has kicked off its food relief response to reach 770,000 affected people in Tigray.
WFP announced that some 18,000 affected people in Edega Hamus town have received rice, maize and vegetable oil.
WFP is among the international aid organizations which are now in the frontline of the humanitarian activities in Tigray.
Following Ethiopia’s announcement for unfettered access to Tigray, there are now close to thirty international organizations operating in the region as 70pct of the need is met only by the Ethiopian government.
