Addis Ababa, November 7, 2021 (FBC) – Residents of Addis Ababa who attended the pro-government rally on Suday called on western powers to leave Ethiopia alone and stop orchestrated media propaganda targeting the nation.
Addis Abebe, who participated in the anti-TPLF and Shene terrorist groups’ demonstration, said that Ethiopians are getting united more than ever to fend off their nation from any internal and external threats.
“We are a free nation that has never been colonized by any outside force. We know how to solve our problems by ourselves. Western powers shall leave Ethiopia alone and stop orchestrated media propaganda against it. Everything is going well and things will get better soon” he underlined.
Mahder Alemayehu, who is an entrepreneur in the capital and one of the attendants of the rally noted western media are trying to mar the image of Ethiopia although things are going well and the people are aspiring for better future.
“The reports which I am listening and watching to the western media regarding my country are irritating for they are full of fabrications and misinformation. Their productions are putting ethics of journalism at stake and forcing us to suspect anything that is from the western hemisphere” she noted.
Engineer Genanaw Kebede, who is a contractor and an architect in Addis also told FBC that Ethiopians have taken lessons from external pressures, and are now united and stronger to defend anything that is against the unity and territorial integrity of the country.
We stand in unison with the government to fend off our national sovereignty. We are united more than ever, he said, adding that TPLF will not be allowed to assume power here on; rather all Ethiopians are marching to weed out it so that the western powers shall stop supporting such a terrorist group. We need technologies and knowledge from western countries not politics and proxy war, he stated.
Tasew Gemechu, another resident of Addis Ababa called on western media including CNN, BBC, Washington Post, Reuters and others to stop fabrication of false news against Ethiopia.
He called on to send loyal and ethical journalists to Ethiopia and investigate what is really going on in the country, he noted.
Ethiopia has a democratically elected government led by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, he noted, called all the international community to support aspiration of peoples of the country rather than spreading disinformation that will negatively affect overall activities in the country.
