Addis Ababa, November 14, 2022 (FBC) – United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has pledged continued assistance to socio-economic development activities underway in Gambela Region.
Shoko Shimozawa, UNHCR Director for Emergency Security and Supply Division discussed with Chief Administrator of Gambela Regional State, Oumod Oujlu on how to enhance cooperation in various sectors.
Oumod Oujlu appreciated the unwavering assistance UNHCR has been providing for the region and respective results being achieved in several sectors.
The Chief Administrator further called on the agency to provide support to people affected by flooding in the region and step up its assistance to region’s endeavors in various fields.
Shoko Shimozawa, for her part, appreciated Ethiopia’s efforts to increase access to social and economic institutions for all and ensure benefit of citizens from respective efforts.
She also appreciated Ethiopia’s determination to ensure safety and dignity of refugees, pledging UNHCR’s continued support to the nation.
