Addis Ababa, September 20, 2022 (FBC) – UNESCO confirmed that it will provide the necessary support in digital skills, artificial intelligence, government electronic services and other sectors, according to the Ministry of Innovation and Technology – Ethiopia.
The Minister of Innovation and Technology, Belete Mola discussed with UNESCO Ethiopia Director, Rita Bisonuz , on the Global Internet Governance Summit, artificial intelligence, government e-services, digital skills, science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Minister Belete thanked Ethiopia’s close partner, UNESCO, for its interest in supporting Ethiopia’s efforts in science, technology and innovation.
The Minister stated that the government formulated the strategy of Digital Ethiopia 2025 and is working towards its implementation.
He explained that the necessary preparations are being made to successfully hold the International Internet Governance conference.
UNESCO Ethiopia Director, Rita Bisonuz, revealed that they are ready to provide support on the International Internet Governance summit that Ethiopia is hosting this year.
She affirmed that UNESCO will also provide the necessary support in digital skills, artificial intelligence, government electronic services and other sectors.
UNESCO, in collaboration with the African Union, will hold a conference focusing on electronic services and artificial intelligence in Addis Ababa from September 28.
