Addis Ababa, February 11, 2021 (FBC) – Ministry of Finance and UNDP held a Discussion with Tigray Interim Administration.
A delegation led by Yasmin Wohabrebbi, State Minister of Finance, and Ahunna Eziakonwa, United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Assistant Administrator and Regional Director for Africa visited Mekele to understand more about the progress and challenges of the ongoing humanitarian assistance being carried out in the region.
During the one-day visit, the delegation held discussions with Dr. Mulu Nega, Chief Excutive of Tigray Interim Administration, and other officials in the interim administration about the current situation in Tigray.
The UNDP further donated vehicles and different equipment to Provisional Administration of Tigray in support of rehabilitation and rebuilding activities in the region.
The Cooperation between Ethiopia and UNDP started in 1975. UNDP’s technical and financial support to Ethiopia focuses on a successful transition to democratic governance, addressing drivers of conflict to consolidate and build peace, foster enabling conditions for expanded job creation by the private sector especially Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), and accelerating the transition to a green economy resilient to climate change.
