Addis Ababa, August 20, 2024 (FBC) – In a meeting between State Minister of Peace Keyredin Tezera and United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Ethiopia Ramiz Alakbarov, they discussed the importance of collaborative efforts in achieving lasting peace within the country.
On the occasion, Keyredin emphasized that successful peace-building initiatives necessitate the cooperation of governmental bodies, non-governmental organizations, and international communities, as they have far-reaching implications that extend beyond national borders to encompass continental and global dimensions.
United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Ethiopia, Ramiz Alakbarov, expressed his appreciation for the ongoing peace-building endeavors, including cross-border youth voluntary service and community dialogues.
Additionally, he pledged his support to the ministry’s peace-building initiatives by facilitating coordination among international institutions.
“Ethiopia is a strategic partner to drive the UN Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG16) at the regional and global level.”
