Addis Ababa, December 16, 2022 (FBC) – United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Annual Conference of Ethiopia is underway in Addis Ababa in participation of government officials and representatives of international organizations.
The conference is being held under the theme “Ethiopia 2030: A country transformed? Options for a next generation of reforms,”
The Planning and development Minister, Fitsum Assefa presented in details the current economic situation in Ethiopia, major economic achievements and the bottlenecks the nation is facing.
Ethiopia has registered remarkable growth in major development spheres including the education, health, ICT technology and innovation sectors in the midst of all shocks globally, regionally and nationally.
The growth trajectory of Ethiopia has continued despite challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic, the conflict in the north and other manmade and natural disasters.
The National Green Legacy Initiative has also been yielding promising results contributing to the overall economic growth, she added.
UNDP Resident Representative to Ethiopia, Turhan Saleh, for his part, appreciated the ongoing economic reforms in Ethiopia pledging continued support to the holistic development endeavors in the country.
