Addis Ababa, January 13, 2025 (FMC) – Reach Digital, an Emirati digital transformation and systems integration company, expressed its desire to invest in Ethiopia on driver’s license issuance, vehicle registration system, and technological products in the sector, according to the East African nation’s Ministry of Transport and Logistics (MoTL).
The company’s desire and the burgeoning investment opportunities in Ethiopia was discussed during a meeting beweem Ethiopia’s Transport Minister Mr. Alemu Sime and a UAE business delegation consisting of members from the country’s companies, in Addis Ababa today.
During the course of the meeting, Mr. Alemu expounded his country’s fast-growing economy, government support and tax incentives to foreign investors, and the availability of sufficient manpower that suit Reach Digital’s aspiration to establish its presence in Ethiopia.
Ideal investment opportunities in Ethiopia for Reach Digital include port development, construction of logistics centers, railway infrastructure and transport, and the aviation sectors, according to the Minister.
Mr. Alemu said that the potential engagement of the Emirati firm in Ethiopia will also be vital in further strengthening the robust relations between Addis Ababa and Abu Dhabi.
He also pointed out that there are more opportunities for investment in IT for the UAE-based company in a smart airport and in the city’s smart parking works that are in the pipeline.
For their part, the representatives of Reach Digital said that their firm is keen to seize available investment opportunities in Ethiopia.
