Addis Ababa, Ministry of Revenue and Custom Commission has offered humanitarian assistance worth 34 Million Birr to internally displaced people who fled their home due to recent unrest in some parts of the nation.
The humanitarian assistance has been organized by a Women Caucus at the House of Peoples’ Representatives.
The handover ceremony has been attended by Speaker of the House of Peoples Representatives, Tagesse Chafo and Minister of Ministry of Revenue, Lake Ayalew.
On the occasion, the House Speaker, Tagesse Chaffo called up on Ethiopians to show compassion to the displaced and play their share in rehabilitating them.
He also called up on Ethiopians to denounce brutal acts that are against values of the nation and comfort the displaced ones.
Charity items handed over to the displaced include foods like edible oil, Sugar, Lentil, Pasta and cloths.
