Turkish Charity distributes Eid Meat in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, July 31, 2020 (FBC) – A Turkish charity distributed meat to the needy in Ethiopia on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

The distribution of the Eid Meat donated by Diyanet held at Al Nur Mosque in Addis Ababa.

Chairman of the mosque committee, Abdi Awol described the support from the Charty as a passionate deed as it came during the COVID-19 pandemic has.

“At least 1,500 families got the meat for Eid celebration,” he said.

Cemil Alici, country head of the charity, said a total of 50,000 animals were slaughtered by Diyanet in the Ethiopia over the celebration of the Eid Al Adha holiday.

Turkish People are is happy to help their Ethiopian brothers and sisters and upholding the spirit of sharing on Eid, Cemil Alci said.

On Eid al-Adha, one of the two main Muslim holidays, people who can afford to slaughter an animal do so and distribute most of the meat to the needy, neighbors and relatives.
