Addis Ababa, June 12, 2024 (FBC) – Ministry of Health, Women and Social Affairs, Bonga University and Pan-African Public Private Partnership Development Center have signed a trilateral agreement to build 2,000 health centers in various parts of Ethiopia.
The agreement aims to implement a 5 year project with the purpose of building 2,000 health centers each with a capacity of providing services for 2,000 to 5,000 individuals on a daily basis, according to the health State Minister, Dr. Dereje Duguma.
Dr. Dereje added that the health centers to be built with the budget of 250 million USD will provide child and maternal, family planning and vaccination services to the community.
State Minister of Women and Social Affairs, Alemitu Umod, for her part, stated that the health centers will contribute to the efforts to deliver quality maternal and child health care services, pledging Ministry’s support for the realization of the project.
CEO of the Russian Pan-African Public Private Partnership Development Center, Oksana Mayorova emphasized that the project would help improve maternal and child health care services in the country.
President of Bonga University, Petros Woldegiorgis, for his part, stated that the university has been working for the realization of the project in all target areas.
