Addis Ababa, November 19, 2024 (FBC) – In a recent meeting, State Minister for Trade Integration and Export Promotion at the Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration, Yasmin Wehabrebi, engaged with members of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation to discuss Ethiopia’s domestic economic reforms and potential areas for enhanced cooperation.
During the discussions, the State Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to thoroughly implementing these reforms, which have resulted in positive economic growth for the nation. She reiterated the importance of ongoing support and collaboration from the IMF.
The State Minister provided an overview of the significant advancements made in Ethiopia’s trade system, the ongoing negotiations for World Trade Organization (WTO) membership, and various issues related to the legal and regulatory framework governing export and import activities. Additionally, she touched on the effectiveness of measures aimed at stabilizing domestic prices and the wide-ranging impacts of the implemented trade and economic reforms.
