Addis Ababa, September 22, 2023 (FBC) – The Dutch Foreign Minister Hanke Bruins Slot told the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen, that her country continues to support the development endeavours of Ethiopia.
While meeting Deputy Prime Minister Demeke on the sidelines of the 78th UNGA, Hanke Bruins Slot reasserted the commitment of the Dutch government to further deepen its strong economic ties with Ethiopia.
She also said that Ethiopia is a major player in business and security matters in the region.
Demeke lauded the Dutch government for its practical support in all areas of Ethiopia, including the participation of the private sector.
Demeke also informed his Dutch counterpart that Addis Ababa is exerting all efforts to consolidate the peace process and ensure that there is a national dialogue among all stakeholders.
Meanwhile, Demeke took part in a side event with the title ‘Summit of the Future’ and said Ethiopia is of strong conviction about the UN Charter. He also called for the multilateral system to ensure equal representation of states.
