Addis Ababa, December 2, 2022 (FBC) – The 17th Internet Governance Forum which was held for the last five days in Addis Ababa concluded successfully on Friday by closing a remark delivered by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Demeke Mekonnen.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Demeke Mekonnen expressed gratitude to the Innovation and Technology Ministry and other stakeholders for the successful arrangements to the international forum.
Saying that Ethiopia is gearing up for the realization of a digital economy, Demeke called for proper implementation of the recommendations and guiding points raised during the forum.
The UN Under Secretary for Economic and Social Affairs, Li Junhua, in a video message, underscored the need to address challenges in the internet governance sphere with a more concerted manner.
The forum held 300 sessions in participation of 3000 participants from all corners of the world.
