Addis Ababa, March 9, 2024 (FBC) – The 13th African Games officially kicked off in Accra, Ghana bringing together tens of thousands of athletes, officials, and sports fans across the continent to celebrate the prestigious event.
In attendance of the opening were, Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Commissioner of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, other dignitaries and guests.
The 13th African Games under the theme of “Experience the African Dream” will be marked by the participation of over 4,000 athletes from 54 countries of the continent competing in 29 sports disciplines.
The Ethiopian delegation will take on the game in 9 disciplines of which the U20 women’s football is among the most anticipated contests.
