Addis Ababa, July 3, 2021 (FBC) – The “Taste of Ethiopia” Exhibition kicked off in Djibouti in the presence of the Culture and Tourism Minister, Dr. Hirut Kassaw and her Djiboutian counterpart Mohammed Warsama.
Exhibitors who represent various companies and business organizations are showcasing Ethiopian traditional clothes, cuisines and drinks on the festival.
The exhibition which is the first of its kind to be held outside Ethiopia is aimed to promote bilateral relations and trade links between the two sisterly countries, the Culture and Tourism Minister said on the occasion.
The Exhibition will also engender a venue to promote joint culture and tourism, particularly through foods and drinks as it is called culinary Diplomacy; which is the use of food and cuisine as instruments to create cross-cultural understanding in the hopes of improving interactions and cooperation.
It is also stated that the exhibition will help stimulate the Ethiopian tourism sector which has been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
