Addis Ababa, April 27, 2021 (FBC) – Preparations have been finalized to make the Tana Beles Sugar Factory one operational in the early days of the upcoming May, 2021, according to the General Manager, Anteneh Asegie.
According to the General Manager, the factory is in a good position to start pilot production in the time mentioned.
The General Manager who attributed the delays seen during the construction process to the pandemic and foreign currency shortage said measures taken to address the bottlenecks and make ready the plant for production.
Factory has now reached 87pct of the construction process, he said, adding it will go fully operation in the coming Ethiopian year on month of December.
Sugarcane production for the commencement of the production is underway at 4 ha of land, he indicated, and announced range of activities to tackle potential resource shortcomings.
