Addis Ababa, February 6, 2022 (FBC) – The 35th Assembly of Heads of State and Government, in its second day meeting, has discussed ways on realizing representation of Africa at United Nations Security Council, Spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dina Mufti told the media.
In its closed session in the morning, the Assembly was hearing current agenda prioritized by member states.
Leaders of member states presented reports of their respective governments concerning various activities including peace and development.
Terrorism and intensification its negative impacts, institutional changes and reforms of finacial institutions were also among the agenda that were discussed by the Assembly, according to the Spokesperson.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has tabled a report on performances of the agricultural development sector in Ethiopia, Ambassador Dina indicated.
While assessing issues related to the reform activities of the UN, the Assembly discussed ways to get the continent Africa represented at the UNSC.
The Assembly also deliberated on the current situation in Libya and climate change in the light of its impacts on the continent and possible solutions to mitigate the challenge.
