Addis Ababa, October 11, 2021 (FBC) – A delegation of Sudanese Electric Company is in Addis Ababa to hold talks with Ethiopian authorities for Sudan accesses additional electric power from Ethiopia.
The talks focus on the means that the Sudanese Electric Company could purchase an additional 1, 000 MW power supply from Ethiopia, and installation of electric lines and erecting of transformers for further power connection between the two countries.
According to Ethiopian Electric Power, dealing with the previous unsettled issues in the area, the talks will last for five days.
To date, Ethiopia provides a 230 MW power supply to Sudan for purchase.
Ethiopia aspires to supply power for Somali Land, Somalia, Tanzania, Eritrea, South Sudan and other African countries as part of regional economic integration.
