Addis Ababa, October 20, 2021 (FBC) – Oromia Disaster Risk Management Commission discloses that the regional state has allocated 30 million Birr as part of a response to the drought in Borena Zone.
Speaking to EPA, commissioner Geremu Olika says that his government is working for the drought is promptly addressed before its effect worsens.
The drought, arising from the failure of major rains, has resulted in shortage of water and food, and as well as fodders.
Of the stated amount, 20 million Birr will be used for the provision of food while the rest is to be spent on fodder, he says. Fifteen tankers are also permanently assigned for water supply.
