Addis Ababa, November 12, 2024 (FBC) – Tomorrow marks the fourth presidential election in Somaliland, with international observers on the ground to monitor the voting process.
The National Election Commission of Somaliland has reported that over 1.2 million voters are registered for the election, with a workforce of 13,000 election officials across 2,648 polling stations.
Observers from various international bodies have been deployed throughout all six regions of Somaliland for the electoral process.
Every five years, the people of Somaliland have elect their president, while every decade, they select three political parties that will nominate candidates for the following two five-year terms. In tomorrow’s election, the competing parties are the Kulmiye Peace, Unity, and Development Party, Waddani, and the Justice and Welfare Party.
