Addis Ababa, January 15, 2021 (FBC) – Southern Nations Nationalities and Peoples (SNNP) Regional State Council, during its urgent session, has approved a constitution that regulates number of representatives of councils for upcoming national election at all levels.
The proclamation approved by the regional council governs how many candidates will be represented in constituencies and polling stations across the region.
As per the new proclamation, 5 zonal candidates will be assigned to every constituency for regional election while zones which have less than 7 woredas can represent 10 candidates.
The proclamation also set directives regulating number of Woreda representatives for the regional election.
SNNP Region will have 106 constituencies and 27 special polling stations, according to the regional communication bureau,
