Addis Ababa, June 12, 2020 (FBC) –An agreement has been signed for the construction of Kalid Dijo dam and irrigation development project in Silte zone, SNNP regional state , at a cost of 1.19 billion birr.
Irrigation Development Commissioner, Dr Michael Mehari and CEO of Southern Water Works Construction Enterprise, Elias Turo, signed the agreement.
Dr Seleshi Bekele Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy and other senior government officials witnessed the signing ceremony held on June 9, 2020.
Once completed, the dam, with a length of 1, 731 meters and a height of 25.5 meters, will help develop 1, 100 hectares of land and benefit more than 2, 200 farmers.
