Addis Ababa, October 6, 2021 (FBC) – Gembela Regional State Police said that three members of a rebel group were killed while two others captured trying to destabilize the region.
These members of the ‘extremist’ Gambella Liberation Front were supported and sent by the TPLF and Shene OLF terrorist groups, as designated ‘terrorist’ by the Ethiopian House of Peoples’ Representatives.
Gambella State Police Commissioner, Abulla Obang, told ENA that the neutralized in an area where Gambella borders with Kellem Wollega Zone of Oromia State.
Security forces are now pursuing the remaining members of the terrorists. According to him, security forces, in collaboration with the public, are nullifying the attempts of anti-peace elements trying to destabilize Gambella State.
The group’s five AK-47 guns were also seized in the operation.
The commissioner has also urged the public to keep on collaborating with security forces in an effort to protecting the peace and tranquility of the region.
