Addis Ababa, September 30, 2024 (FBC) – The second meeting of the Technical Working Group (TWG) of the Climate Resilient Green Economy (CRGE) Forum, led by the Ministry of Planning and Development, took place recently. The forum focused on the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) Implementation Plan for 2024-2030.
Minister of State for Planning and Development, Seyoum Mekonen, highlighted Ethiopia’s commitment and actions toward achieving a climate-resilient green economy, saying, “the nation has been showcasing its best experiences, and received recognition on global platforms.”
He attributed this progress to strong government leadership, active citizen participation, and support from international financial partners, promising continued enhancement of these efforts.
Attendees included Samuel Doye, UNDP Ethiopia Representative, and representatives from the Norwegian Royal Embassy and the British Embassy, who engaged in discussions about the COP29 plan and areas of potential collaboration with CRGE forum members to support Ethiopia’s climate priorities.
