Addis Ababa, August 16, 2020 (FBC) – Save the Children and Amhara Region Finance Bureau have sighed emergency Fund for COVID 19 prevention and control activities in Bahir Dar City.
The signing has taken place in the presence of Coordinator of Amhara Region COVID 19 prevention and Control Task Force, Dr. Muluesh Abebe and other high ranking regional government officials.
Dr. Munesh and Western Amhara Save the Children Project Coordinator, Muluken Emagnu have signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.
Out of the total fund, 36 Million Birr will goes directly to vulnerable segments of the community as cash support while the remaining is to be appropriated for hygiene and sanitation works in the city.
The fund will also extend food, health care and sanitation support to vulnerable members of the society in six cities and towns in the country including Hawassa, Dire Dawa, Adama, Jigjiga, Muluken said.
Close to 5,500 family heads and additional 22,144 members of various segments of the community will benefit from the support extended by Save the Children as part of COVID 19 response in the nation.
