Addis Ababa, February 26, 2022 (FBC) – Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN V. Nebenzia asked the U.S. Permanent Representative to the UN not to read morals on the invasions.
Russia vetoed a draft resolution by the US and a number of co-sponsors condemning the special military operation to demilitarize Ukraine and calling for its immediate termination, according to Embassy of Russia in Addis Ababa.
India, China and the UAE abstained in the vote. Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya commented on the decision.
“It would be good to include in the draft an honest assessment of the role in inflaming the Ukrainian crisis by our Western colleagues, who not only stood behind the Maidan coup, but actually gave Kiev carte blanche for any actions and steps unthinkable for any civilized state,” Nebenzya said.
“It is certainly difficult for us to compete with the United States in the number of invasions of our neighbors. I will refrain from listing the aggressions that the United States has committed in its history. But are you to read us the moral,” Nebenzia stressed.
The tasks of denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine will be accomplished soon enough, – Vasily Nebenzya told the UN Security Council.
“We are not waging war on Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.
We are conducting a special military operation against the nationalists in order to protect the residents of Donbass – denazification and demilitarization. These tasks will be accomplished soon enough and the Ukrainian people will be able to decide their own destiny again, while living in peace, good neighborliness and cooperation with all neighbors,” Nebenzya said.
