Russian foreign ministry summons Polish ambassador

Addis Ababa, May 11, 2022 (FBC) – The Russian foreign ministry has summoned the Polish ambassador, RIA reported on Wednesday after the attack on the Russian ambassador in Warsaw, Sergei Andreev, on May 9.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said the attack was a flagrant violation” of the 1961 international convention, which says that countries must protect foreign missions.

The Russian embassy in Warsaw said Russia was not considering closing the embassy, “unless Polish authorities make its function impossible”.

The U.S. Ambassador to Russia John Sullivan was also summoned by the Russian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday.
