Addis Ababa, March 31, 2023 (FBC) – The renowned Russian cosmonaut and Space Engineer, Sergey Kud-Sverchkov has shared his experiences in space exploration to Ethiopian students, teachers and researchers during an event held in Addis Ababa Science and Technology University.
President of Addis Ababa Science and Technology University, Dereje Yilma (PhD stated that Sergey Kud-Sverchkov’s experience is crucial in evoking inspiration in Ethiopian young students who are interested in space science and technology.
The University is working in collaboration with Moscow Engineering Institute and other Russian higher education institutions in science and technology fields, the President added.
Director General of the Ethiopian Space Science and Technology Institute, Abdissa Yilma, said Ethiopia has attached too much importance to the sector, for Ethiopia to create astronauts and space engineers.
Sergey Kud-Sverchkov performed his spaceflight in 2020 and spent 185 days aboard the International Space Station as a flight engineer for ISS Expedition 63/64.
As a member of Expedition ISS-64, Sergei Kud-Sverchkov had been working for six months onboard International Space Station alongside his crewmates from Japan and USA.
