Addis Ababa, August 21, 2024 (FBC) – Russian Artificial Intelligence experts, led by Evgeny Terekhin, the Russian Ambassador to Ethiopia, have visited Ethiopia’s Artificial Intelligence Institute today.
During the visit, members of the delegation have expressed that Ethiopia has made significant progress in artificial intelligence research and implementation in a relatively short period of time.
Specifically, the Ambassador pointed out that the strong desire of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to make technology and modernity the foundation for development has resulted in numerous changes in a short time.
He expresses his country’s strong desire to work in collaboration with Ethiopia in the area and share its experience.
The purpose of the visiting delegation of experts was to further strengthen the technological cooperation between the two countries. The visit was received and briefed by the Deputy Director-General of the Institute, Mr. Taye Girma.
The Deputy Director-General elaborated on the institute’s substantial work in the field of artificial intelligence that has been accomplished in a short period since its establishment.
