Addis Ababa, November 29, 2024 (FBC) – Refugees and Returnees Service (RRS) and the Authority for Civil Society Organizations (ACSO) signed MoU to enhance monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for interventions carried out by organizations and projects within Ethiopia’s refugee response framework.
Director General of RRS Teyiba Hassen and her counterpart at ACSO Samson Biratu signed the MoU representing their respective institutions.
In her remarks at the signing ceremony, Teyiba stated that discharging mutual responsibilities would contribute to a more efficient, equitable and sustainable refugee response system in Ethiopia.
She went on saying: “The MoU will be followed by the establishment of a joint technical committee tasked to oversee and coordinate shared initiatives tailored at improving the lives and well-being of refugees and the communities that graciously host them.”
ACSA Director General Samson Biratu on his part underlined that the growing collaborative spirit between the two institutions would lay the foundation for future interventions.
He reckoned: “The bilateral partnership marks an important step in fostering greater accountability, strengthening program effectiveness and enhancing synergies between the two organizations.”
The MoU underscores a shared commitment to advancing Ethiopia’s refugee response through enhanced accountability, collaboration and impact-driven initiatives that prioritize the resilience and reliance of refugees and their host communities.
