Roads to be closed for traffic during Meskel Demera festival announced

Addis Ababa, September 24, 2024 (FBC) – Some roads will be closed to traffic in order to prevent traffic congestion during the Meskel Demera festival in Addis Ababa on September 26, 2024, Addis Ababa Police announced.

Therefore, the Addis Ababa Police will be blocking the roads from 11:00 a.m tomorrow until the end of the program. Accordingly:

The road leading from St. Urael Square to Meskel Square will be closed at St. Urael Square.

Vehicles coming from Bole direction to Meskel Square will be blocked at Olympia Square.

The road from Meskel Flower to Olympia will be blocked at Gazebo Square.

The road from Agona Cinema to Meskel Square will not be allowed for heavy vehicles and Agona Cinema for light vehicles at Tilahun Square.

The street from Legehar Light to Meskel Square will be closed at Legehar Light, and for vehicles from Tele intersection to Addis Ababa Stadium, at Tele Intersection.

For vehicles coming to the stadium from the Ras Hotel, at Ras Hotel.

From Harambe Light or from Ambassador Cinema to Meskel Square at Harambe Mebrat.

The road leading from the National Palace to Meskel Square will be closed near the National Palace.

The road that leads from Kezanchis Shell to Bambis will be closed near Kezanchis shell.

The road from Jupiter Hotel to ECA will be closed near Bambis Salcot Bldg. to vehicles from the time mentioned above.

Parking is also prohibited at the routes mentioned.

Police advised drivers to use alternative routes tomorrow.
