Addis Ababa January 6, 2023 (FBC) – Religious fathers from various churches have extended Christmas messages on the occasion of Ethiopian Christmas (Genna) festival which is celebrated January 7, every year.
In their message, the religious fathers urged that since the birthday of Jesus Christ is the foundation of love and kindness, faithful should translate it into practice by loving one another.
God’s coming to this earth as a man is a demonstration of his love for mankind, the religious Fathers said, calling faithful to show the love and kindness that God has shown to mankind.
The religious fathers indicated that loving each other and living in peace is God’s commandment to all the faithful, adding Christians are responsible for spiritual work that as it is their duty to obey God’s commandment.
They mentioned that the birth of Jesus Christ broke the wall that was erected between God and mankind.
As the celebration is a festival of Love and kindness, the religious fathers urged Christians to spend the festival by showing kindness to those in need and sharing what they have with the poor.
Religious fathers from various churches called up on all faithful to implement the example of Jesus Christ by performing good deeds for each other in their daily activities.
