Addis Ababa, April 6, 2023 (FBC) – The high-level Ethiopian delegation, led by Adem Farah, Vice President of the Prosperity Party, delivered a message from Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to Ismail Omar Guelleh, the President of the Republic of Djibouti.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to fostering long-standing diplomatic, political, economic, social, and cultural relations between Ethiopia and Djibouti based on mutual benefit, trust, and respect.
Furthermore, the delegation, which also included Ambassador Mesganu Arga, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, engaged in a productive meeting with Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, the Foreign Minister of Djibouti. The meeting addressed a wide range of critical bilateral and regional issues, cementing the strong collaboration between the two countries.
The Ethiopian delegation also paid a courtesy call to the Executive Secretary of IGAD, Dr. Workneh Gebyehu, where fruitful discussions were held on topics of mutual concern.
Ambassador Mesganu Arga reaffirmed Ethiopia’s enduring commitment to working within IGAD to address pressing issues in the region. The meeting underscored the significant strides made in implementing the peace agreement and discussed topics such as drought, migration, and peace and security in the region.
Overall, the official working visit of the Ethiopian delegation to Djibouti has strengthened the already robust diplomatic ties between the two nations, highlighting their shared vision of promoting peace, stability, and development in the region.
