Addis Ababa, July 23, 2024 (FBC) – The Prosperity Party has expressed heartfelt condolences to victims of the landslide occurred on Monday morning in Gofa Zone of South Ethiopia Regional State.
In a statement of condolences issued today, the Prosperity Party wished comfort to the families and relatives of the victims of the disaster.
The party also affirmed that it will contribute its part in coordinating stakeholders for rehabilitation of people impacted by the landslide.
Head of the Gofa Zone Disaster Risk Management Office, Markos Melesse, announced the establishment of an emergency rehabilitation committee which is said to have embarked on mobilization of resources to support the victims.
Markos stated that the zonal government is intensifying the search operation as the death toll so far has risen to 157.
