Prosperity Party Central Committee concludes two-day session

Addis Ababa, December 19, 2020 (FBC) – The Central Committee of Prosperity Party (PP) has concluded its regular meeting after putting forward directions.

During its two-day session, the Committee discussed in detail on peace, development, democracy and upcoming general elections, according to a statement office of the Party issued today.

Despite many political challenges, the reforms undertaken during the past two years and a half created ample opportunity to realize the prosperity of the country and saved the nation from existential threats of disintegration, it said.

In addition to creating huge opportunity to build one political economy society, the establishment of Prosperity Party allowed many marginalized communities to join and participate in the country’s politics, the statement indicated.

The Committee reached consensus on the need to maintain the gains made from the nation-wide reform process and upgrade them to an inclusive prosperity, it indicated.

In its meeting, the Committee also deliberated on the now concluded law enforcement operations carried out in Tigray regional state following the greedy TPLF junta’s attack against the Ethiopian National Defence Forces.

The Committee extended its gratitude to the defence forces, Special Forces and militia of Amhara and Afar regional states as well as to all Ethiopians for their bravery in demolishing the junta in a short period of time.

The Committee called on Ethiopians to realize the prosperity of the country by repeating the unity shown during the operation and victories achieved over the TPLF clique in other areas of development sectors.

The Committee also vowed to hunt down members of the junta and bring them to justice, rehabilitate displaced people and rebuild infrastructure damaged by the junta in Tigray.

The Committee urged Prosperity Party’s leadership, members and supporters as well as all Ethiopians to do their part in the efforts being made to resume public services, swiftly deliver humanitarian assistance and return normalcy in Tigray.

The Committee further called on the leadership and members of the Party to strive to realize a genuine federal system based on the unity and fraternity of the people.

It also underscored the need to respond to the legitimate question of identity raised in various areas based on legal procedures and to take appropriate measures to immediately stop ethnic-based attacks in different parts of the country

The Party urged its leadership at all levels to work with high commitment and determination in the efforts being made to arrest and take measures against the perpetrators.
