Addis Ababa, May 1, 2022 (FBC) – Prime Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has extended best wishes to all Muslims on Eid al-Fitr holiday.
All Muslims around the world joyfully celebrate the Eid al-Fitr holiday given by God for the happiness of humankind, the Premier said.
The happiness during the Eid al-Fitr stems not from the foods and drinks but from the compassionate deeds observed by the Muslims during the holiday, he noted.
Muslims spend Eid al-Fitr by supporting each other, helping those who are in need and sharing food and giving alms to the poor, the Prime Minister said.
The Premier said this year’s Grand Ramadan saw a strong national unity, he said, adding that street Iftar events held in several cities and towns of the country helped Muslims to strengthen mutual support and unity.
The Prime Minister further called on the Muslum community to reinstate IDPs, create jobs for the jobless and support those who lost their houses and other properties due to various reasons while observing the holiday.
